Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to look at our lovely school.
Situated at the heart of the beautiful village of Shipham, on the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset, our small yet dynamic school provides an exceptionally caring and nurturing learning environment in which we aim to make all learners, aged from 2 to 9 years old, feel happy, secure and safe.
We are a small team and aim to work closely with our families and community to enable the development of the whole child, focusing on their emotional, spiritual and moral as well as academic development. At Shipham Church of England First School, we believe that school should be a time when every child has a chance to shine. It should be a place where all children discover things they love and that they are good at. Our core Christian values of respect, trust, courage, thankfulness, kindness and community are threaded throughout our broad, fun and inspiring curriculum. Our aim is that through our key learning behaviours, we ensure our children become confident, resilient and lifelong learners. In April 2020, we joined the Wessex Learning Trust to become part of a wider group of established local schools. As a Church of England school, we also have close links with St Leonard’s Church and the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
Visitors are warmly welcomed. We are proud of our wonderful school and hope that our website leads you to wanting to know more about us. We welcome you to come in and see us for yourself.
