Shipham First School has wonderful grounds with views over to the Bristol Channel. Our sports field can be home to a football pitch, racetrack or Summer fete, depending on the time of year!
The playground is home to a Wendy house, sand and water pits, and an area for the children to ride their bikes and scooters.
At the bottom of the field is an adventure playground, where children can improve their balance and mobility skills. At the opposite corner is the ‘Peaceful Place’, which was created with help from parents as an area for quiet activities and reflection. The school holds some Collective Worship services in the Peaceful Place, and we also go down there for story-time and other quiet times.
Within our grounds there are various willow structures, including an outside classroom, made by Mrs Leader with the help of the children.
The children enjoy getting involved as much as possible with many aspects of maintaining and improving the school grounds through weekly forest school sessions and after school Gardening and Green Clubs.
