What will we be learning about?

- How does Dawson's model help us to decide whether someone is of significance or not?
- Isambard Kingdom Brunel as a person of local, historical significance.
- Different types of significant people (monarchs, activists, scientists, explorers)
- How can we learn from both historical and modern-day 'movers and shakers'?
Our writing focus
In English, we will be writing biographies about Isambard Kingdom Brunel and going to the SS Great Britain. Following this, we will be travelling back in time to meet Mary Anning and writing newspaper reports about her amazing scientific discoveries! We'll also learn about the suffragette Emily Davison, activists Greta Thunberg and Rosa Parks and create our own activism placards about things that are important to us.
