Shipham Pre-School is next door to Shipham First School and aims to provide a safe, stimulating and happy child-centred environment where your children can play and grow. They aim to stimulate an inquisitive mind and cultivate an imaginative, independent learner.
Children are welcome from the age of 2 to 5 years old.
The latest Ofsted inspection rated Shipham Pre-School as OUTSTANDING for overall effectiveness of early years provision.

Open every weekday 9-3pm excluding Friday afternoons
Morning Session 9am-11.30
Lunch 11.30-12.30
Afternoon session 12.30-3pm
Vouchers and EYE funding are accepted
Before 9am, children can enjoy our wonderful out door play area but must be accompanied by an adult until Pre-School opens at 9am.
Shipham First School also offers a breakfast club for children aged 3+ going to Pre-School who need to be dropped off before 9am.
Our links with Pre-School
Shipham Pre-School is directly next door to First School. We work closely with the Pre-School with a formal partnership agreement in place. Together we take great care over arrangements for the transfer of children from Pre-school to our First School.
For those children coming up to Shipham First school from Pre-School in September we have in place a dedicated session each week in school with the Reception Class and accompanied by the Pre-School staff. This takes place on a Wednesday afternoon from the January prior to the Autumn start. Children are therefore very familiar with the environment and the other children in readiness for school. In addition, all the Pre-school children’s learning records and personal details are, with parents’ permission, passed on to First School. This exemplary transition gives them the best possible start in their Foundation Stage learning.
The Pre-School also has access to our facilities including the hall and our grounds for a range of outdoor activities.
