Shipham Church of England First School is a part of the Cheddar Valley group of schools. There are nine First Schools for children from 4 to 9; two Middle schools which take children from 9-13; and Kings of Wessex Academy for students up to 18. The majority of the children at Shipham School move on to Fairlands Middle School at the age of 9 (Year 4), and then to Kings of Wessex Academy. Both schools are extremely well regarded and popular.

Kings of Wessex Academy
The Kings of Wessex Academy was judged to be outstanding by the February 2010 Ofsted Inspection team. To quote the Ofsted report, “One student summed up The Kings of Wessex as ‘amazing’ and inspection findings endorse this view. It is an exceptional school with excellent performance.”
