The
school is proud of its status as a Church of England Voluntary
Controlled school. We have recently undergone a very successful
Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools (SIAS). (Click

The school has close links with
St. Leonard's Church, Shipham. The Priest-in-Charge, Tim Hawkings,
is a very familiar and popular visitor in school, leading
Collective Worship in school every fortnight and welcoming
the children to a service in school at least twice a term.
We also end each half-term with a Family Service in the Church.
We hold a Harvest Festival in the Church and also celebrate
the Christmas story with a play in church. Children leaving
Shipham hold a special celebration service in the summer.
In
2006 we renewed the close ties with the church by signing
a covenant at a service attended by the school, church and
village communities. The Bishop of Bath and Wells, Peter Price,
visited the school that day and led the service. To celebrate
the event the PCC sponsored local artist, Anne Carpenter,
to design and create a collage into which she incorporated
work by the children.
